Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible for your data
BackHome OÜ ("BackHome", "we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact for privacy matters: hi@backhome.life.
2. What data we collect
You give us:
- Account and contact details — name, email address, phone/mobile number, country of residence, and the language you use.
- Order and request details — what you ask for, messages you send us, and the information you provide about the service you need (which may include details about a third person, such as a family member the service is for).
- Communications — messages, support requests, and dispute-related information.
We collect automatically:
- Usage and device data — basic technical information such as IP address, device/browser type, and how you interact with the Platform, including via cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).
From third parties:
- Payment status — we receive confirmation of payment status from our payment provider. We do not collect or store your full card number or card security details — those are handled by the payment provider / Merchant of Record.
3. Why we use your data, and our legal basis
Under the GDPR we must have a legal basis for each use. We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account — performance of a contract.
- Provide consulting and arrange introductions to Partners — performance of a contract.
- Process payments and confirm payment status — performance of a contract.
- Record your acceptance of our Terms (who, when, which version) — legal obligation / legitimate interests.
- Comply with sanctions, anti-money-laundering, and other legal obligations — legal obligation / legitimate interests.
- Communicate with you about your orders and support requests — performance of a contract.
- Keep the Platform secure and prevent fraud and abuse — legitimate interests.
- Improve the Platform — legitimate interests.
- Send marketing messages, where you have opted in — consent.
4. Who we share your data with
We share personal data only as needed:
- Partners — where you ask us to introduce you to a Partner, we share with that Partner the information necessary to make the introduction and for them to consider your request.
- Payment provider / Merchant of Record — Finoment LLC, to process your payment.
- Service providers who help us run the Platform — for example hosting, database, email, and analytics providers, acting as our processors under contract.
- Authorities — where required by law, or to comply with sanctions or other legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
BackHome operates across borders, and some of the people and providers involved are located outside the European Economic Area, including in the country where a service is to be performed. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with applicable law.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purposes above, including for the life of your account and afterwards where we need to for legal, accounting, dispute, or compliance reasons — and then delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to certain processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these, contact hi@backhome.life. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in Estonia, the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), or the authority in your own country.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to make it work, to keep you signed in, to remember your language preference, and to understand usage.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
10. Children
The Platform is not directed at children and is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version with a new date and, where the change is material, take reasonable steps to notify you.
